Morocco’s National team ,Lions of the Atlas, fought from a goal down to beat Togo at the Africa Cup of Nations to ensure control of their fate going into their final group game.
Having beaten Togo on Friday, Lions of the Atlas are second in Group C with three points, one point more than third place Ivory Coast, who drew DR Congo in the previous match.
Mathieu Dossevi put Togo in front with a low shot in the first five minutes of the game, but St Pauli forward Aziz Bouhaddouz headed in the equalizer for Morocco in the 14th minute.
Wolves’ Romain Saiss nodded in the second goal in the 24th minute while Youssef En-Nesyri fired in the third goal in the 72 minute.
Togo skipper Emmanuel Adebayor twice went close to the Moroccan goal post but was denied by keeper Munir Mohan Mohamedi with the score 2-1. Adebayor also headed over a Dossevi cross early in the second half.
Sparrow Hawks of Togo are bottom of the group with just one point, and must defeat DR Congo to have a chance of progressing.
DR Congo currently lead the group with four points, having played two matches, winning one and drawing one.
Morocco would play against Ivory Coast in the concluding Group C games next Tuesday.
